What inspires you?
Alexis - There are a few things that inspire me, being behind the chair or using my brushes to change the way someone feels about themselves is so impact full for me. I love the feeling of making someone feel positive about them. I am very new to the industry and the possibilities are very inspiring knowing that there are so many things left for me to learn and achieve!
Shantell - Life, smiles, and a beautiful blow out.
Desiree - Having opportunities like working fashion week has been something that inspires me. I am also inspired by the people around me and I am most inspired by my clients and how I know I can make them feel if I create something special for them.
Do any of your team members have a person that you idolize, or someone who inspires you in the hair, makeup, salon or general beauty industry?
Alexis - The people who inspire me aren’t ‘famous’ but they’re magnificent to watch and to learn from. Desiree has such passion for her clients going above and beyond whether that’s to please them or to make sure she has been educated on what she is doing to know she is providing top of the line service. Maya is a co-worker of mine at Sephora, she is the education lead… She is an open book of knowledge and loves everything about what she does and it shows!
Shantell – Thomas Osborne he is a master at cutting and a brillant educator.
Desiree – I LOVE Marco and Maria From TIGI UK. They are amazing hair magicians! I also Love James Morrison… and I cut his hair last year during NAHA! what a great request!
Why do you think your team should be one of the top 10 salons to compete in Las Vegas this fall?
Alexis - I think we are all very inspired, creative, and think a little out of the box giving us a versatile edge..
Shantell – We’ve got the goods! Talent, team work, work ethic, and passion on our side.
Desiree – I think we are Talented yet Humble and we would represent our salon and city nicely.
What does winning the competition mean to your salon? Or to your individual members?
Alexis - It gives us the opportunity to do something different! Break out of our shells and do a part of hair dressing and makeup that’s going to make a statement!
Shantell – Its a sign of dedication to our craft, reaching above and beyond.
Desiree – We WORK WORK WORK and this would be a really great challenge for us. Winning would be a big deal for our salon and we would Love to hang a” Battle of the Strand winners” Certificate on our wall.
